As incredibly tragic and heartbreaking this is I am not surprised this happened as I've even mentioned it in sermons. It's only a matter of time with our own loose borders in these US of A this will happen again on our soil as well. (Please God I hope I'm wrong.) We have failed to prevent all the hate filled Islamic terrorists but evil will never prevail!
I echo Fr Z on his blog...
Be prepared, you don't know when something might happen, don't think it won't happen to you and most of all examen your conscience and GO TO CONFESSION!
Let us pray without ceasing: ST MICHAEL, THE ARCHANGEL DEFEND US IN BATTLE, BE OUR SAFEGUARD AGAINST THE WICKEDNESS AND SNARES OF THE DEVIL. MAY GOD REBUKE HIM WE HUMBLY PRAY AND DO THOU O PRINCE OF THE HEAVENLY HOST BY THE POWER OF GOD CAST INTO HELL SATAN AND ALL EVIL SPIRITS WHO PROWL THROUGH THE WORLD SEEKING THE RUIN OF SOULS.
St. Pope John Paul II (St. Peter's Square, Sunday, April 24 1994) on this prayer:
"May prayer strengthen us for the spiritual battle we are told about in the Letter to the Ephesians: "Draw strength from the Lord and from His mighty power" (Ephesians 6:10). The Book of Revelation refers to this same battle, recalling before our eyes the image of St. Michael the Archangel (Revelation 12:7). Pope Leo XIII certainly had a very vivid recollection of this scene when, at the end of the last century, he introduced a special prayer to St. Michael throughout the Church. Although this prayer is no longer recited at the end of Mass, I ask everyone not to forget it and to recite it to obtain help in the battle against forces of darkness and against the spirit of this world."
Let this prayer of exorcism be repeated throughout the day, personally I seldom fall asleep at night before invoking both St Michael and the Blessed Mother.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
